I bought this Tv set for the 2D to switch the 720p DLP set I’d. I wanted top picture quality without planning to Plasma. I liked DLP, but the brightness was not competitive anymore and i also was finally good to go up to 1080p.

This set comes as close to plasma as you can — the black levels are amazing (thanks to community dimming… as long as you aren’t actually far off axis — but really, how many times do you sit and observe the TV from peculiar angles?), the illumination is amazing, and the colors are astounding. The default calibration is a bit off as mentioned before, however I’m pretty very pleased with only minor changes from movie mode. Glossy finish maybe isn’t ideal, but it’s the norm these days, so when I compared glossy to a 2 year-old device with matte complete in the store, I used to be shocked there wasn’t a huge difference throughout reflective glare. I manage without the motion removing because it annoys myself, but mostly since it is just too good for my personal eyes. Others will discover it to be awesome. To date, I haven’t noticed difficulties with true 1080/24 content. *EDIT* My player was arranged to not send 24fps, and so i enabled that. Using one disc I tried it introduced some oddness.
